How Yaniv is played here

The rules this table deals by. Everybody at the table sees the same lines before the first hand.

  • Call with somebody sitting on the same or less and they assaf you: 30 points plus your own hand.
  • Land on exactly 50 or 100 and your score is cut in half.

How it works

  1. Open a table. It gets a short code of its own.
  2. Read the code out, or send the link. Anyone you send it to sits down as a guest, without an account.
  3. Deal once everyone is seated — or give each empty chair a bot and start now.

How multiplayer Yaniv works

Playing Yaniv online with other people, step by step: the code, the seats, the table rules, and what happens when somebody drops out.

Inviting the table

The host opens the table, which needs a free account, and shares its six-character code or the link from "Copy link". On a phone "Challenge a friend" stands beside it, and hands that invitation straight to Messenger, Instagram, Snapchat or whatever else you chat in. Everyone who follows it picks a name and sits down as a guest; nobody else needs an account.

Yaniv here is for two to six players. Everybody should be in the lobby before the first hand, because a game in progress cannot be joined. If the table is short, the host can press "Add an opponent" to seat a bot.

The table rules

The host chooses three things, and everyone sees them: whether yaniv can be called at seven or at five, whether the game goes to 100 or 200, and whether the deck has two jokers or none.

Five cards each, and one card is turned up to start the pile. The first hand starts to the dealer's left; after that, whoever took the last hand leads the next.

Your turn

Tap the cards you want to throw away: one, a set, or a run. The table only accepts combinations that are allowed. Then take a card: "Draw from the deck", or tap one of the cards the previous player laid down.

When your hand is at or under the line at the start of your turn, a "Yaniv!" button appears with your total on it. Press it instead of playing to end the hand.

After a call

Every hand is shown at once, with what each player held, who called, and whether it was an assaf. Scores that landed on exactly 50 or 100 are marked as halved.

The next hand starts once everyone has pressed "Ready for the next hand". When someone reaches the target, the lowest score wins.

If somebody drops out

A player whose connection drops is shown as away and waited for twenty-five seconds. After that a bot plays their cards until they return, and opening the table again gives them their seat back. A player who presses Leave mid-game is replaced by a bot for the rest of it.

If the host leaves, hosting passes to whoever has been sitting longest. A table with no activity for six hours is cleared away.

Questions about playing Yaniv online

How many can play Yaniv online here?
2 to 6 at one table. A bot can take any seat nobody fills, so a game never has to wait for somebody to turn up.
Can I play Yaniv against the computer?
Yes. Give any empty seat a bot and it plays like anyone else at the table, seeing only its own cards.
Does it cost anything?
No. Every table here is free, there are no ads, and nothing about you is sold or handed on.
Do I need an account?
Only to open a table. Joining one never needs an account — anyone you send the code to sits down as a guest.
Does Yaniv work on a phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer, and there is nothing to install.
